Sport fishing has established itself as one of the main tourist attractions in the Amazon, and we at Amazon Receptive, aware of the potential of this activity, also work to welcome tourists interested in practicing it in the Amazonian rivers. We assist sport fishermen and provide all the necessary infrastructure for them to experience the unique adventure of exploring the rivers in search of “renewable gold,” our peacock bass.
The Amazon has 25 municipalities that are hubs for sport fishing, where the activity is permitted between August and March. Barcelos, Presidente Figueiredo, Sรฃo Sebastiรฃo do Uatumรฃ, Careiro da Vรกrzea, Itacoatiara, and Itapiranga are among the cities where the practice is prominent.
Sport fishing has rules defined in State Decree No. 39.125/2018, which allows fishermen to catch the fish, measure it, weigh it, take photos, remove the hook, and return the animal to its habitat.
