Recognized as a Cultural Heritage of Brazil, the Parintins Folklore Festival is a popular festival that takes place every year in the municipality of Parintins, in Amazonas. It’s a three-day event, held between the last Friday of June and Sunday.

The event is marked by the competition between the Caprichoso (Blue) and Garantido (Red) bumba-meu-boi groups, which takes place in the bumbรณdromo, a kind of arena. Besides the bumba-meu-boi groups, the festival portrays regional culture and important characters of Amazonian folklore, such as the pajรฉ (shaman), cunhรฃ poranga (beautiful woman), queen of folklore, sinhazinha da fazenda (young lady of the farm), among others, who enchant the public with impeccable performances.

The Parintins Folklore Festival is one of the main pillars of the economy of the municipality of Parintins, because in addition to enchantment and entertainment, it is responsible for generating thousands of jobs and income in the municipality.
